The Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital is a non governmental institution promoted by World Friends which runs it in partnership with the Archdiocese of Nairobi and the CISP. The Hospital rises on a plot belonging to the Archdiocese of Nairobi who has rented it to WorldFriends for the purpose of constructing and running a health institution accessible to the poor patients of the Nairobi slums. The idea to create a referral medical centre to guarantee the access to health for the poor population of the most marginalized areas of Nairobi, and to respond to the need of training for social and health workers was part of WorldFriends comprehensive health program since 2002: the program involves on one side the enforcement of suburban basic health structures and provision of basic and preventive medicine in the slums,
